True, but Kid Buu is not nearly as powerful as Buutenks. And Vegeta was in his most powerful form. I give the Shin Kikoho a big multiplier as well, but even if it was x200, that'd make Tien pretty fricken strong. Edited by POOHEAD189, Jan 25 2012, 03:35 AM.

I think it said somewhere that kiai attacks can absorb small ki blasts. Not sure where. And kiai/kihoho are genki/lifeforce attacks too considering they have the same affects (humans get tired after giving ki, Tien exhausts as well). Something about his lifeforce getting shortened by Roshi too. I'm sure he gained a lot of power and wanted to test it out, but it's hard to gauge him anywhere tbh. |

No, he wasn't in his strongest form, the manga is consistent! No lightning = no ssj2. He and Goku were both in ssj form. I know Kid Boo is not nearly as strong as Bootenks, I was just trying to say that deflect attack don't necessarily mean same tier, or even closely same tier... |

I think Vegeta was in SSJ2. Why on earth would he choose the lesser powerful form? I think Lightning only happens on a SSJ2 if he has not transformed into such a state for a long while. Gohan had lightning in the World Tourney, but not when he kamehameha'ed Buu's egg. We all know he went all out in that attack. |

Yeah, Vegeta was only a Super Saiyan when he deflected Pure Boo's blast. Honestly, the Shin Kikoho's multiplier would have to be at least 500x in order for Tenshinhan to be relevant even to Fat Boo IMO. |

I just can't buy that. Thats like Tien trying to block Buutenk's blast with a regular blast of his own. Why do that when the Shin Kikoho could do it? There was no reason. Unless its stated, if they are fighting an enemy more powerful than themselves, then they are going all out, especially in transformations. Unless of course it has severe drawback and is blatantly obvious like SSJ3. Edited by POOHEAD189, Jan 25 2012, 03:59 AM.

He was already in ssj and there was no time to transform. You don't have to believe me, just reread again. And lightning is always there when ssj2. Edited by Mesmerize, Jan 25 2012, 04:03 AM.

This is the form he was in when he deflected Boo's blast. He made no transformations between this time and deflecting it. ![]() Notice how Son Goku is only a Super Saiyan? Why would Vegeta go a step further for no reason? Why would Toriyama do that? This is Vegeta when he transformed against Pure Boo later on. ![]() Notice the much different aura and the lightning, plus the more defined hair, all of which he lacks in the first scan. I can't understand how you think he's a Super Saiyan 2 in the first one honestly. Nothing suggests it. And if you're going by the theory that lightning is only present for someone who hasn't used the form in a long time, then why would he have it in the second instance and not the first? Nothing changed between those transformations. Edited by Pyrus, Jan 25 2012, 04:07 AM.

But are they only super saiyan? Its getting harder for me to tell. Lightning does have apart to do with SSJ2, but I think there must be some requirement for it other than just the transformation. If Goku and Vegeta really wanted to blow up buu from the inside, they would have gone further than SSJ1. I mean, either theres more to it, or characters have no common sense.

They must be regular Super Saiyans. Son Goku's hair says it all, and that's never inconsistent as far as the manga goes. |

Why don't you provide manga scans with a ssj2 that has no lightning then? Spoiler: click to toggle

If you want to be fair, the farthest an SSJ has gone to look like an SSJ2 is Super Vegetto, but after the transformation, he clearly has an SSJ aura. |

The internet fanmanga "Dragonball Multiverse" proposes a great look for Vegetto SS2. It's definitely different than SS1, no strands hang at all. |
